This is a remix of live versions of (mostly) original material recorded over a number of years. The original recordings and the remix were made with a Tascam 4-track cassette recorder. Some additional guitar parts were overdubbed. Randy Clamons was the only guitarist for these tracks. Other players include Chris Montgomery (drums), Bo (Dan) Bowman (bass guitar), Steve Garcia (saxophone, bass guitar), Bill Johnson (harmonica, keyboards, bass guitar), Brian Barbarisi (drums).

"The Hut" is a bar on 4th Ave in Tucson, AZ. The building itself is a slightly modified quonset hut: big-ass corrugated steel arch, giant brick walls at both ends. Bob Weir famously referred to Winterland as an "acoustical snakepit" but The Hut is a habitat for more slithery sound creatures (maybe gila monsters, we're not sure).
